The streak has ended and the boys in Blue look to start a new one! 5 THOUGHTS COMING AT YA!!!!!
1. I'm sure Buck Martinez has a serious man crush on Kevin Seitzer! I feel like I should leave the room whenever he starts to talk about him on air.
2. Given the Jays lost pretty bad tonight and the team hit like the team of last year, I'm till pretty happy that J.A. Happ went 7.2 innings. He may not really had the chance to win, but he battled through and gave his bullpen some rest and in a better position to win the remaining two games in the series.
3. Pretty Excited for Marcus Stroman to make his 1st Big League start tomorrow. I'm not sure if his two starts that he was sent down for would have really "stretched" him out as much as they would have liked, but with the extra rest that J.A. Happ gave the bullpen tonight, if we get 5 solid innings where he uses all his pitches I'll be happy! Welcome to the Stro Show!
4. Just when you think there's nothing else Jose Bautista can do he goes and has two 9 -3 put outs in back to back games. I remember Jeff Francoeur doing it once a few years ago and i'm sure it's happen more than that, but to do it in back to back games has got to be the same as throwing a perfect game for a pitcher.
5. Is there really anyone out there that wants the Blue Jays cowboy hat? If that promotion has people standing in line at 9am on Sunday I may have to change my outlook on society!

5 Thoughts on the Blue Jays for May 29th
Here be what I thinking about the Toronto Blue Jays....
1. If there is any truth to the rumor that the Jays are going to be on a tight budget for the upcoming draft, I can't help be worried about the short shortsightedness of Roger's Communication. If we've learned anything over the last few years is that in order to keep payroll down you should draft and develop your own players. Saving in the short team could lead to costing you more in the future.
2. I am pretty sure that Edwin Encarnacion is a Robot! There's not really any other explanation that could explain why he's so unbelievable right now.
3. I know I said the other day that I wanted the Jays to get Justin Masterson at the deadline, but I was having a bad day I guess, cause I totally forgot about James Sheilds! If I had the opportunity to get one guy out there who may be available it would be Shields. Dude is a beast.
4. Something tells me no matter how the Tampa Rays are playing right now, there is no way that they are not in the playoff hunt come September. At no time during that last series did I feel comfortable for some reason. They just scream of a team that can make something happen at any time and if they get on a roll anything can happen.
5. I may have mentioned this before, but I think Jays fans often neglect Duane Ward. Not only was he one of the greatest Blue Jays of all time, but the guy has done more for grass roots baseball in Canada than almost any other Blue Jay. I was pretty excited this year when Rogers decided to give him a go at working color commentary in the Radio booth when Joe Siddallis working the TV side. He's still pretty raw at it, but he has an interesting POV to the game and hopefully he gets a chance to work on his radio work.

5 thoughts on the Toronto Blue Jays - May 26th
Here is hoping that we have another great week in Jays Nationa! 5 thoughts.....here we go
1. Not really Jays related, but I guess you could play 6 degrees of Blue Jays Baseball and make it somewhat jays related, but anyways.....The mess that went on Sunday in Tampa with the Red Sox getting mad at Yunel Escobar for stealing 3rd with a 5 run lead is rigoddamndiculous! This just screams of a forced rallying point! Give me a break...
2. I'm a little worried that the lack of service time with Drew Hutchison may start to creep it's way into his starts. Guy needs to have a sit down with Buehrle.
3. In the long run these series against AL East teams are going to be the line in the sand for the Jays this year. If they end up with record over .500 against the teams in the the AL East I really like their chances at making a long run into September.
4. Is there a magic # that the Jays could take on salary wise if they get deeper into contention? All year we've heard that they are tapped out budget wise, but does that change if the team is in contention and fans start coming back to the ball park? Who's out there that the Jays may target that could possible cost them less prospect wise than a player who may have more control.
5. I'm still torn these days to really know one way or the other if Kevin Seitzer hitting tutelage is having an effect or not. On one hand the Jays are hitting Homers like it's going out of style still, then on the other hand you see Lawrie starting to hit the ball to all fields, Joey bats and Edwin both willing to sneak shots against the shift, and a guy like Gose is actually having great at bats. I'd be interested to see what the players are saying about having Seitzer on staff.

5 thoughts on the Toronto Blue Jays - May 25th 2014
After a beautiful weekend in the big smoke here on my 5 random Blue Jays thoughts for today!
1. I spent most of my weekend listening to the Jays games on the Radio, and nothing against Sportsnet's TV production, but listening to the game on the Radio is second to none. We are so lucky here to have Jerry Howarth work for the Jays, I don't think anyone (for me) paints a better picture than Jerry. I may also hate myself for this later, but i'm really warming up to Wilner. When he 1st started it was tough to get through those couple innings, but now he's better than solid.
That is not to forget to mention how great Joe Siddall has been since he's jumped into the booth. I didn't mind Morris last, year but Siddall has been a definite upgrate in my opinion.
2. I really liked the little homage to Mother's day today but a few of the Jays. Yeah it's two weeks late, but it`s great to see the players wanting to make a display at home.
3. How great has it been to see Jose Reyes start to steal basses again like it's 2007? We are finally starting to see why AA wanted him in the Marlins mega deal so bad.
4. Wonder if anyone in Blue Jays land is going to have the guts to say that they knew the Cubs wanted Drew Hutchison instead of Aaron Sanchez. If you have someone tell you they did. They are lying. One more thing on Hutchison. Doesn't he look like DJ from Roseanne?
5. I was helping my Mom clean out her Garage this afternoon and I found one of the famous Toronto Blue Jays Mr. Sub gym bags. Oh lord have we come a long way from the days of the gym bag as a fan appreciation giveaway. Yeah today..they were giving away replica jersey's. Bit of an upgrade.

5 Random Blue Jays thoughts for May 23rd, 2014
Here are 5 Random thought son the Jays for May 23rd 2014....
1. It may be pretty early within a career that doesn't have any playoff success or even any divisional success, but to me Casey Janssen is becoming one of the best closers in Jays history. Guy just gets it done. Admittedly he's got a long way to go to get to the likes of Henke and Ward, but if you look at the others behind those two, Janssen is making a name for himself.
2. I think Jays fans are finally starting to see what the value of a Manager truly is. I will preface this by saying I am a fan of John Gibbons and have never been a part of the #firegibbons movement, but finally I think average fans are starting to see how managing a bullpen and constructing line-ups to face different pitchers is of benefit.
3. I don't think we should have been all that surprised that Liam Hendriks was the choice to come up and pitch tonight's game again'st the A's. Dude was 5-0 with an ERA of 1.49 and had only walked 3 guys in Buffalo and when AA was down in Buffalo to see him last week he killed it. Writing seemed to be on the wall for me anyways
4. Posed the question on twitter today if you would Trade Sanchez & Stroman for Samardzija and everyone pretty much said no. no they wouldn't. Not sure I would either, but I got to think if this Jays streak keeps moving forward without a real deadly lapse they have to look at options to upgrade the current pitching staff which would ultimately mean they have to trade Young kids if they wanted to even get anything is substance back. Don't they?
5. Can all those people who think Colby Rasmus net make a great trade chip to help upgrade the rotation please stop! The only way Rasmus gets traded is if the Jays are out of it by the trade deadline and they are trading him to a contender, or maybe if he is a part of a three team trade, otherwise I see the Jays offering Colby a 1 year 14M contract, he walks and Jays get a 1st rounder for him.

Toronto Blue Jays 2014 Draft - What will happen?
June 5th is the 2014 MLB Draft. Still a favorite day of mine. Still don't know why...but I do. I have no real clue about any of the players in depth. No real idea of what the Blue Jays will do except that they will probably reach on a few young players who teams don't think will sign.
The Blue Jays have 2 picks in the top 11 this year, which would make you think that they could get two....well to be honest who knows what it gives them. They could end up with two guys who are studs, they could end up with two duds, maybe one stud and one dud....no other draft is even close to being as unpredictable with the outcome of 1st round talent.
Most mock drafts have the Jays either taking Pitcher Touki Toussain, Jeff Hoffman or SS Trea Turner, which is cool. I would think they would probably go with one pitcher and one position player, but they could go out and take two position players as it's pretty safe to say that the Jays system is easily the most missing of young talented position players.
Either way it goes I know for sure I'll find myself on June 6th still glued to the live stream conference call of late round picks. Man I am more lame than I really thought!

Emerging for the Shadows - GWLB Thoughts on the Blue Jays
Yes I do think it's a little odd that I've chosen to get back to the computer box just as the Blue Jays sit in 1st place for the 1st time this late into a season since 2000, but that is not what I should be focusing on.
We should be focusing on the fact that the Blue Jays are capturing the imaginations of the fans only even if it's just slightly this time during the season.
The Slipper could fall off the foot at any minute and the current glimmer of hope for this team could be extinguished at any time, so let's find a way to enjoy it and cheer for the Blue Jays like it's 1992.
